Allison Neal completed a degree in Fine Art at Wolverhampton University, an ATC at Sussex, an MA in printmaking at Camberwell and a PhD by practice at the University of Gloucester.

She has taught at every level from leisure classes to MA and finally as course leader for a degree in Fine Art. She’s written BA and MA courses and been an examiner for several degree courses but left teaching to concentrate on her own work.

She works in whatever material comes to hand and she’s fascinated by the way that the present, like a shabby, threadbare blanket, barely conceals the fragmented, ruined past whether the remains of destroyed industries or the stories and rituals that are all that is left of ancient beliefs.
Born: Sussex, England.
Lives: Abergavenny, Wales.
